What is an Upward Bound (UB) Resident Advisor:

Resident Advisors are responsibility for the safety and supervision of students. They will live in the residence hall, lead routine student meetings, and assist in the implementation of the Summer Academy, a five week residential program for high school students. Resident Advisors are assigned specific tasks to perform throughout the duration of the Summer Academy that are essential to its success.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in college in any program.

  • Successful completion of 30 credit hours.

  • GPA of 2.5 or higher.

  • Ability to live on campus for the duration of the Summer Academy.

What to expect as a Resident Advisor:

  • Responsible for the safety and security of UB students during the Summer Academy.

  • Supervise students in all UB activities.

  • Attend and participate in all meetings and activities.

  • Lead weekly student meetings.

  • Perform assigned daily duties.

  • Mentor and plan community building activities.

  • Live on campus from Mid-May through Mid-July.
