Resident Advisor
What is an Upward Bound (UB) Resident Advisor:
Resident Advisors are responsible for the safety and supervision of students. They will live in the residence hall, lead routine student meetings, and assist in the implementation of the Summer Academy, a five-week residential program for high school students. Resident Advisors are assigned specific tasks to perform throughout the duration of the Summer Academy that are essential to its success.
Minimum Requirements:
Currently enrolled in college and a full-time college student.
Successful completion of at least 35 credit hours.
GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Ability to live on campus for the duration of the residential
Summer Academy.
Must have a high school diploma/GED.
Must have a valid driver's license.
What to expect as a Resident Advisor:
Responsible for the safety and security of UB students during the
Summer Academy.
Mentor and serve as a college role model.
Attend and encourage student participation in all meetings
and activities.
Lead weekly student meetings.
Perform assigned daily duties.
Supervise 8-14 students in the residence halls.
Live on campus from Mid-May through Mid-July.
