Resident Supervisor

What is an Upward Bound (UB) Resident Supervisor:

Resident Supervisors provide direct support as a liaison between administrative staff and Resident Advisors and assist in the supervision of students. They will live in the residence hall, supervise students and Resident Adivors, lead routine staff meetings, and assist in the implementation of the Summer Academy, a five week residential program for high school students.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any area.

  • GPA of 2.5 or higher.

  • Ability to live on campus for the duration of the Residential Summer Academy.

  • Must be able to attend training prior to start of Residential Summer Academy.

  • Valid driver's license.

What to expect as a Resident Supervisor:

  • Responsible for the safety and security of UB students during the Summer Academy and in the residence halls.

  • Lead Resident Advisor trainings and meetings.

  • Manage Resident Advisors, including their paperwork and assigned duties.

  • Maintain documentation and complete weekly paperwork.

  • Attend and participate in all meetings and activities.

  • Plan and implement team building activities.

  • Live on campus from Mid-May through Mid-July.
